Birthday Party for 2 Little Princes

2 years old.  UNREAL.
We had some family and friends over to the house to celebrate Parker and Jack turning 2.  Jen made cute t-shirts to help out everyone distinguish who was who.  The tent was up, the tables were out, and it was a gorgeous day outside.  The boys didn't even realize or care that it was their b-day, but whatever, we all had fun anyway!!  The garage was set up outside so any and everyone had a bike or car or something to ride and everyone was just happy playing and running around.  When it was time for cake, Jen had the brilliant idea to break out the bubbles as P and J LOVE bubbles.  Well, when you put them away to sing/take pictures/eat king cake, they both spazzed, as noted by the pictures.  Again, awesome idea Jen…

These two years have flown by, with the latter one being substantially easier than the first.  Nonetheless, we have survived, and we can't wait to see what the next one brings!

We love you Parker.  Happy Birthday P!!
We love you Jack.   Happy Birthday Buddy!!

Tough Day at the Office

My mom had pictures of me on the potty when I was little and showed anyone who was willing to look at them...and so the tradition continues.  These are the types of shenanigans that I live for.

Ben's First Tooth

4 days before his 6 month birthday, Ben has sprouted his first tooth!!  It has just broken the skin, but it is still there...

He has been a drool machine lately and constantly has his hands or something in his mouth.  I was finally able to feel the first little one break the skin on the bottom right side of his mouth.  Ben was sleeping through the night from 2-5 months and he is still sleeping pretty good with his tooth pain.  Since his teeth are bothering him, he has now formed a little habit of arising to eat in the middle of the night.  Hopefully we can break that habit soon and the tooth pain will subside and we can all get back to uninterupted sleep!!

Grandmaster No Nap

He comes out today for the 7th time...and at first is silent. (exit number 4 included a poop filled pull up). Comes to sit on the couch and says, "Mommy, I'm something else".

The Traveling Duo (again)

Well, MM and PP came to our rescue once again, and took Parker and Jack back to SC for an entire week.  To me, it was a logistical nightmare, but to MM and PP, it was an adventure.  They drove down to BR, flew back home with the boys, rented a car (and carseats), flew back to BR, then drove back home to SC.  WHEW.  I am exhausted just writing that!!

We were a touch apprehenisve becuase we ended up havng to take JAck to the doctor the morning of the flight with a fever.  He just had a little virus, and Dr. George gave him the all clear to go.  He was back to his old self in a day or so.  He and Parker had a blast at "camp," even though the weather was a bit colder than it was here.  I think they liked having some quality time away.  They got to visit Nana, go to the library, out to dinner and for coffee, and they went on numerous playdates.  Thankfully they were good on the plane for MM and PP and they didn't run into too many issues during all the winter weather that blanketed the rest of the country.

Jen, Owen, Ben and I were able to get away to the condo in Florida since we only had to manage only 2 kiddos!  That was nice and let us clear our heads, but it wasn't quite the same without all of our usual choas.  Owen had a good time while his bros were away, but you could tell that he missed them...or at least missed bothering them and swiping their toys!

It was a strange week while they were gone.  The mornings were weird and quiet and meals/bathtime/bedtime was easy.  It was something strange since our guys were missing, but it sure was a nice change of pace and it put a little perspective on our daily lives.  We were defnitely ready to see them when they flew back to BR!!
